Saving time by complementing hands-on student-athlete development activities with online learning

"Game Plan has made complying with the new NCAA [sexual violence prevention] legislation very easy.  I was able to assign my student-athletes modules and they are able to complete them on their own time."

Danielle Morrin

Director of Life Skills at East Carolina University

Before the Partnership

Before ECU partnered with Game Plan, their Life Skills staff members were spending a tremendous amount of time providing background information in a classroom setting to prepare student-athletes for hands-on activities.  As a result, they had less time available to devote to one-on-one interaction with student-athletes.

Course Creation

ECU wanted to deliver background information related to Life Skills programming online to give their student-athletes the flexibility to review it in their own time.  Their goal was to save time and free up resources in order to focus more on hands-on activities with student-athletes.

The Result

Since partnering with Game Plan, ECU is able to deliver certain aspects of their student-athlete development content online using Game Plan’s learning management tools.  As a result, their Life Skills staff are able to save time and dedicate more of their attention to helping student-athletes in a one-on-one setting.

Their partnership with Game Plan also helps the athletics department differentiate itself in the eyes of prospective recruits (and their parents) by demonstrating their commitment to comprehensive student-athlete development.
