Game Plan continues to grow by adding in two new team members! These new hires will work with athletic organizations to help implement and utilize our platform to serve student-athletes.
Rachel Rodriguez most recently served as the Director of Student-Athlete Development/Life Skills at East Carolina University where she oversaw the comprehensive student-athlete development program that included personal and professional development, leadership development, community service and the Athletics Living Learning Community. Prior to this position, she spent three years as the Student-Athlete Affairs Program Coordinator at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Rodriguez held a dual role there serving as an athletic academic advisor where she organized, initiated, and administered a comprehensive academic support program for more than 50 student-athletes. She also oversaw all aspects of student-athlete development such as diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, the creation and launch of the Islanders L.E.A.D. Program, design and implementation of a four-year career development program, educational workshops and speakers, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor and First-Year Seminar instructor.
Carly LaBombard comes to Game Plan from the United States Military Academy at West Point’s Center for Enhanced Performance where she supported the holistic development of cadet-athletes into leaders of character as an Academic Coordinator for Army Football and Women’s Lacrosse. Additionally, LaBombard taught a student success course for first-year cadets to equip them with the learning strategies and mental skills essential to elite performance across all pillars at the Academy. Prior to Army West Point, LaBombard served as Associate Director for Student-Athlete Development at Grand Canyon University. In her role, she oversaw the Specialized Learning Services and Summer Bridge programs. In addition to program oversight, she served as a Learning Specialist and an Academic Coordinator for various teams throughout her time with the ‘Lopes. LaBombard started her career in student-athlete development in Knoxville as an Academic Mentor in the Thornton Athletics Student Life Center while completing her master’s degree in Recreation & Sport Management at the University of Tennessee.
