“With Game Plan it is easy to assign programming at an affordable cost to our entire department, and tracking completions is a breeze. Rather than spending thousands of dollars to bring in professional speakers on each topic, we're able to cover multiple topics and easily reach our student-athlete population through their phone.”

Youngstown State utilizes Game Plan to deliver on the 9 topics that will be mandated by the NCAA starting in August of 2024. The library of content that Game Plan offers has allowed YSU to easily assign and track their athletes' engagement with the various topics. For the last two academic years, all YSU student-athletes have completed a monthly mandatory module which will expand to coaches beginning in the 24-25 academic year.
YSU specifically benefits from the streamlined communication that Game Plan allows them to have with their athletes. Kiersten Klekner-Alt, Associate Athletic Director at YSU, states, “It is easy to assign "professional" programming at an affordable cost to our entire department, and tracking completions is a breeze.”
YSU has utilized Game Plan for a variety of eLearning education and is consistently a top 10 D1 user of the platform. In 2023, YSU completed education on Sexual Violence Prevention, Financial Literacy, Professional Development, NIL, Sports Wagering, DEI, Physical Health, and more. Throughout 2023, they engaged over 500 athletes and completed over 5,000 courses as an organization.
Utilizing education through Game Plan, and allowing athletes to complete modules on their own time, has allowed YSU to save money and resources on live speaker events. The Game Plan eLearning courses have allowed YSU athletes to learn about a variety of different topics in a more direct and efficient manner, saving YSU staff time and resources. Kiersten Klekner-Alt, Associate Athletic Director at YSU, explains, “Rather than spending thousands of dollars to bring in professional speakers on each topic, we're able to cover multiple topics and easily reach our student-athlete population through their phone.”
